Unser Hotel in Gerede lag auf etwa 1.400 Höhenmetern. Laut einem Prospekt aus dem Foyer gibt es hier in der Nähe auf 1.700 m ein sehr bekanntes Türkisches Wintersport / Ski Resort. Dort trainierten wohl auch die Olympiasportler die Goldmedaillen für die Türkei errungen haben. Außerdem arbeitet Gerede darauf hin DIE Lederproduktion des Landes zu werden!
DIe Straße direkt vor dem Hotel ist die Hauptverbindungsader zwischen Istanbul und dem Osten des Landes, vor allem Samsun und die restliche Schwarzmeerküste. Richtung Istanbul war die Straße VOLL! Ganz links sieht man die Einfahrt zum Hotelparkplatz und wir kamen vom Kreisverkehr…. bis sich unsere zwei Autofahrer getraut haben sich da mal durch die ununterbrochene Schlange von Fahrzeugen zu drängeln… xD Hihihi….
Na gut, Hotel was supi, voll gemütlich und leckeres Essen! Sie schienen aber nicht so auf internationale Gäste ausgelegt zu sein, beim Frühstück gab es gar keine Säfte oder Milch, selbst Kaffee musste mündlich bestellt werden. Dafür natürlich türkischen Tee und viel, viel, viel Käse in verschiedenen Variationen.
Los ging es fast pünktlich um Acht. Die heutige Strecke war gerade aus über die D100 bis nach Merzifon (und dann ab Richtung Amasya zu unserem Hotel). Die Landschaft war einfach nur schön! Die gesamte Strecke hat mir richtig gut gefallen! Die Straße war immer 2-spurig, super Straßenbelag, unglaublich wenig los und die Landschaft hat uns so verwöhnt mit beeindruckenden Anblicken. Mal trocken, mal voller Nadelwald, mal steinig und felsig, mal grüne Felder und Wiesen. Wenn nur die ganze Route so schön sein könnte… xD
Morgen geht es endlich ans Schwarze Meer! Wir berichten dann vom dortigen Strand aus! 😀
Our hotel in Gerede lies at around 1.400 m altitude. According to a leaflet in the hotel there is a famous wintersports / ski resort nearby at 1.700 m where gold medalists from Turkey trained. Apart from that Gerede tries to be THE maker of leather products in their country!
The road on the image is the main connection between Istanbul and the very East of the country, like Samsun, Trabzon and the rest of the Black Sea coast. You can see the entry to our hotels parking lot on the very left. We came from the round-about on the right. Unfortunately the road towards Istanbul was PACKED, so it took our poor car drivers a moment to dare cross the busy road. xD The managed in the end, but it sure wasn’t easy if you are used to very large gaps between cars!
Eventually they managed without a problem. The restaurant was fantastic and super comfy. They had great food but were maybe not prepared or organised for international guests. Their breakfast buffet lacked juices and coffee! We had to order them separately. And there was lots and lots of cheese in various shapes and forms. xD
We started out trip on time at 8 AM. We simply followed the D100 towards Merzifon (and then off towards Amasya for our hotel). The scenery was breathtaking! I loved the whole section and I would totally drive it again! The road was always 2 lanes, excellent road surface, very little traffic, and as mentioned, we were treated to countless amazing views. Foresty hills, dry hills, green meadows, sheep and sheperds… if only the whole trip could have had such nice landscapes. xD
Tomorrow we will reach the Black Sea. We are going to report again from the beaches there! 😉
